Application for the Blended Intensive Teacher Training (BIT)
This professional development course is designed for secondary school teachers.
It explores the student competences defined in the SciLMi Framework of MetaScientific Literacies, with a primary focus on the competence domain Open up your mind: Identify, search & preselect information sources on a socio-scientific issue.
Through engaging, hands-on activities and reflective exploration, participants will develop a deeper understanding of key concepts and strategies, practise applying these strategies in context, and refine their teaching techniques to empower learners in mastering meta-scientific literacies.
To apply for the training, please submit your application by 28 May.
There are no course fees.
Participants must agree to complete the full course, including the two virtual sessions, and to take part in the SciLMi evaluation study.
Please make sure to reserve the dates for both the virtual sessions and the on-site week in your calendar.
- You will be informed in June 2025 whether you have been selected and offered a place, or added to the waiting list. If so, you may still receive an offer later through second-round selection if another participant declines their place.
- If your application is successful, you will receive additional information and be required to arrange your travel and submit proof of your booking (train or flight) within five days of being notified, in order to secure your place.
- There are no course fees for participation.
- To support travel and accommodation, participants can choose one of the following funding options:
- Erasmus+ SciLMi Teacher Academy funding
Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to a distance-based amount, reflecting expected travel costs. Reimbursement is subject to successful completion of the entire training, including the virtual sessions. Accommodation will be provided free of charge to participants.
- Erasmus+ KA-1 funding arranged by the participant’s school
A limited number of places are reserved specifically for participants with KA-1 funding.
Participants are required to stay at the seminar hotel, which is priced at EUR 75 per night. Support is provided to help them identify cost-efficient travel options.
As part of a formal selection process, applications are scored according to several criteria. Applicants who use their own Erasmus+ KA1 funding receive additional points in the scoring, which increases their chances of being offered a place.
Hosting organisation: EduNet Europe (Germany). Certificate of attendance will be provided.
